The HPE Microsoft Windows Server 2022 5 Users CAL licenses user access to a Windows Server 2022 environment. User CALs are typically chosen where named users need to access Windows Server services from multiple devices such as a desktop, laptop, tablet or remote workstation.
A Windows Server licence covers the server operating system itself. CALs cover access to that server environment. For many Standard and Datacenter deployments, organisations need both the server licence and the correct number of User or Device CALs.
